i
In addition, trees will also be planted in disturber]areas. The trees will provide addi onal erosion
protection, but more importantly, enhance and expedite the"natural"appearance of a site
' resulting from the mining operations. The tree plantings include:
Tree Species Number to Plant
' Eastern Redcedar 30
Pmon Pine 60
Bristlecone Pine 30
tAll trees shall be at least 6 to 12 inches tall when planted.
' The access roadway shall also be broadcasted with the seed mixture. All areas that c rrently have
less than 20 percent vegetative cover shall be reseeded.
Successful revegetation shall be considered complete with the percent of bare ground on
disturbed areas is less than 50 percent. Should this condition not be met, by observa ' n
measurement on or about September V . The deficient areas shall be reseeded again October
or November to meet this requirement.
1
' SECTION S 0 SURFACE DRAINAGE
This section is included in the revised reclamation plan to identify the historic drain basins
' and to inure the revised reclamation plan maintains the natural drainage.
Stormwater runoff has historically been conveyed from the site, and the upland draina a areas,
under Highway 141 via culverts. Runoff then travels to East Creek, which lies severa hundred
feet to the south of the highway. East Creek drains easterly for approximately 12 mil to the
Gunnison River.
' Three drainage basins are identified for the site. Each drainage basin flows to a sepa to culvert
crossing under Highway 141. The western third of Parcel A, including the highwall a ea drains to
the 18-inch culvert near the access to the property. The middle of the site, including a western
' half of the stockpile area, drains to an existing 36-inch culvert near the south center of a site.
The east half of the stockpile area composes part of the third basin. This runoff drains easterly in
the Highway's cut ditch to a 48-inch culvert, about 130 yards downstream of the site.
' The drainage basins include:
' Drainage Total Area Site Area Offsite Area
Basin No. (acres) (acres) (acres)
1 29 4 25
2 47 5 42
' 3 13 3 10
The acreages are approximate and are based on the"Jacks Canyon" 7.5-minute USGS
' quadrangle.
8
