•.
MS. CAROL PAFII.1~
Page 4
October 10, 1980
reclamation work. This work will involve removing any structures and then
rerroving the top two (2) feet of overburden material. This material will
be hauled to the pit and buried under four (4) feet of non-toxic cover.
The azea then will be ripped to a depth of two (2) feet and topsoil re-
distributed. The area will be revegetated using the same seed mixture
that will be approved for the active mining. The reclamation work for
these areas will be initiated upon termination of mining.
5) Pclditional I~brk Being Initiated - Mr. Robert Thompson of CPL
Than~son has been contracted to do a stability and overburden swell
study. The swell information canbined with the geologic data and
accurate mapping will be used to generate meaningful overburden volumes.
Once these volumes are obtained, TBM will be able to derronstrate that
they can meet the AOC requirements.
TBM has proceeded in good faith to obtain the information needed to
finalize a sound mining and reclamation plan. At this time all the
information is not available and TBM would request that the information
put forth in this report be sufficient to satisfy the abatement conditions
required in NOV 80-27 and 80-28. TBM will supply the additional information
required by the NOV's in its permanent program sukmission.
if you have any questions concerning the above, please contact me
at your convenience.
Sincerely,
~~~~
RICHARD MILLS
Senior Ehvirornnental Coordinator
RM/cs
ESiclosures
cc: Mr. Jirmiy Renfro
cc: Mr. Mike McCarthy
