III IIIIIIIIIIIII III
999
Twentymile Coal Company
April 5, 2001
Janet Binns
Environmental Protection Specialist
Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman S[reet, Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
RECEIVED
APR 0 6 2001
Division of Minerals 8 Geology
RE: Notice of Violation No. CV-2001-004
Permit C-82-056
Dear Ms. Binns:
The will serve to provide additional information pertinent to the above referenced Notice
of Violation. TCC conducted considerable additional data that was forwarded to the
Division for their use in review of TCC's 2000 Water Year AHR. The additional data
collection allowed TCC to effectively control mine discharge.
Additionally, the Division requested TCC to cross tabulated data for selected surface
sites and TCC provided this information. This was beyond what the permit or the
regulations required of TCC. This data compilation took an effort on the part of TCC,
with the end result of making the Division's job easier in its review of the AHR.
In regards to well 97-012TH, water pressure were obtained from the well. The recorded
water pressure was 2 PSI. This data provides information as to the stability of the
pressure in the unit. The hydrant will be repaired this spring so that higher pressures, if
they present, can be recorded.
If there are further clarification is needed, please contact me at your convenience.
Sincerely, '
~~ ~~
Richard Mills
Environmental Manager
File:I:\en\env\dmgWOV 2001-004response.doc
2e515 ROUTT COUNTY ROAD ~Y7, OAK CREEK, CO BW67 PHONE: (970) 879-3800 FA%: (070) 87&8050
