iy
grounding Wells
A map and tabulation of surrounding water rights and well permits are attached with this
exhibit. Water rights and well permits for shallow wells are identified which lie within
approximately one half mile of the subject property. The river serves as a natural
hydrologic barrier and therefore no water rights or well permits will be injured which lie
on the north side of the river.
Drawdown of the water table will occur due to the dewatering. It is expected the drop in
the water table elevation at the neighboring wells will be minimal due to the distance
between the pit and the adjacent wells.
However, in the event thatt the neighboring wells drop in production, steps will be taken
to insure that the well owners receive the same quantity and quality of water. This may
include pumping water from the pit directly to the injured wells, construction of recharge
pits next to the injured wells which can be filled with water and used for local recharge
of the groundwater, or water can be delivered directly to the injured well owner if there
are no other viable options.
NPDES Permit
The operator has an NPDES permit under the rules and regulations of the Water Quality
Control Division of the Colorado Department of Health. This permit is administered by
the Health Department.
404 Dredge and FIII Permit
The present mining plan does not intend to place any fill in wetlands and as such will not
require a 404 permit. If it is determined that wetlands will be filled then a 404 permit will
be acquired.
G-5
