EROSION CONTROL PLAN
To treat the runoff from Topsoil Stockpile No. 8, Peabody has installed a
Series of straw bales to trap and filter the small quantity of sediment
that may run off this stockpile. See Figure 1 for the location of the
straw bales.
Peabody proposes to construct a catchment basin to contain the runoff from
Topsoil Stockpile No. 13 that does not drain into Sedimentation Pond 001.
This catchment basin will completely contain the runoff from a 10-year,
24-hour precipitation event. See Figure 1 far location of the basin and
Figure 2 for a typical catchment basin configuration. The stockpile
runoff will be diverted into the catchment basin by catchment ditch to
ensure all runoff is treated and contained. These ditches will be
v-shaped and at least one foot deep. The minimum required capacity of the
catchment basin to completely contain the runoff is 0.06 acre-feet, or
2650 cf. A copy of the SEDCAD+ output for this stockpile is attached.
Peabody will construct the catchment basin and seed all associated
disturbances and stockpiles with the approved seed mix on or before
October 31, 1990.
