Henderson is located along Brighton Rd. between 120th Ave.
and 124th Ave.
Adams County has received several complaints in reference to loss of
water depth in the wells. It was also alleged from some of the
complainants that two gravel mine pits are largely responsible. The
M&G Pit MLR #M86-079 has been discovered to have dewatered and
dry mined in specific violation of both the M&G and Adams County
Permit #59-86-C. The Zigan Pit No 2 MLR #82-174 operators have been
alleged to have clay lined the pit walls in direct violation of the Adams
County Permit #49-91-C(A).
I have enclosed the names and addresses of the owners of the wells
who have called in complaints in the last two weeks.
This letter is a formal request from the County to the Division of Minerals
and Geology and the Division of Water Resources for your enforcement
action. Please inform me as soon as possible as to your inspection
schedule and enforcement remedies to mitigate the loss of water in the
wells.
Thank you very much for your help with this matter.
Si~cerely,
~``~~ - ~~
Craig Tessmer
Acting Environmental Analyst
cc: Board of County Commissioners
BOARD OF COUNTY ELAINE T.
