Box 191
1280 State Highway 67
Victor, Colorado 80860
Attention: Mr. Ron Roberts
RE: PHASE Nb SOLUTION COLLECTION PIPE INSTALLATION
Deaz Ron:
.Our Ref: 003-2203
Golder Associates Inc. (Golder) has prepazed this letter for the Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining
Company (CC&V) regarding the removal of two sections of solution collection piping from within
the Phase IVb Valley Leach Facility (VLF) footprint. The two sections to be removed aze:
• The section of piping south of the Eastern PSSA Berm, below the 9624 road. These solution
collection pipes can be removed from the VLF as they were to be connected to the Phase IVa
solution collection pipes. The Phase IVa solution collection pipes were removed from the
VLF as presented in a Golder letter, dated April 12, 2002. With the Phase IVa pipes removed,
this section of the Phase IVb solution collection pipes is no longer needed; and
The section of solution collection piping located south of the Western PSSA Bens, below the
9624 road. These solution collection pipes can be removed from the VLF because they aze
located on a 2.5 H:1V slope that naturally drains into the Phase III portion of the VLF. In
addition, the Dmin Cover Fill (DCF) has a hydraulic conductivity of 0.1 cm/seo, which is
considered to be high enough to prevent building a hydraulic head greater than 2 feet on a
2.5 H:1 V lined slope. Therefore, solution collection piping is nobneeded in this azea.
Golder appreciates the opportunity to provide ongoing CQA services for the Cresson Project. Please
contact the undersigned with any questions.
Sincerely,
GOLDER ASSOCIATES INC. r
'f'~'
John F.
