Wellington Downs Pit;
Permit No. l ~ 95-035 (TR-02); Response to Comments
Dear Ms. Crosby:
On behalf of our client, Connell Resources, Inc. (CRI), please accept the following information
in response to technical revision (TR-02) comments for reclamation permit M-1995-035,
Wellington Downs Pit dated October 19, 2007.
Rule 6.2.1(2) Requires that maps be signed by a registered land surveyor, professional
engineer or other qualified person. The maps submitted to the Division were not signed.
Please resubmit a signed copy of the maps.
Response: a professional engineer has signed the resubmitted maps.
2. The operator proposed leaving an asphalt driveway 25 feet wide. Section 34-32.5-
116(4)(a) of the Colorado Land Reclamation Act for the Extraction of Construction
Material stated that grading shall be carried to create a final topography appropriate to the
final post-extraction land use selected. Please further explain how leaving the 25 foot
wide asphalt driveway will conform to the approved reclamation plan.
Response: The approved reclamation plan designates the Wellington Downs Pit Site (M-
1995-035) as a lined water storage reservoir. The 25 foot wide asphalt driveway on the
south side of the pit will facilitate necessary access for operation and maintenance
requirements for the reservoir.
3. Please state if any other roads will remain of site. If so, they will need to be noted on the
reclamation map.
Response.' There is an access road on the northwest corner of the site that will remain.
The road is identified on the reclamation map.
1499 West 120th Avenue, Suite 200 (303) 452-6611 ~ Fax (303) 452-2759
Denver, Colorado 80234-2759 www.applegategroup.com
