G. ~
' • i
Page Two
August 23, 1995
Please consider this memo as evidence of the County
Commissioners attempt to complete successfully and properly the
filing of required records.
As a part of this process, the County Commissioners are
requiring the Administrator to set up separate files for each
gravel pit site. Within each master file there will be at least
three separate files. The first file will deal specifically with
required reports and fees and provide for a tickle system so that
payments are made timely. A second file within each site file will
be an inspection file. The inspection file will contain
documentation relating to problems that are identified by internal
inspections, by inspections by your organization and other related
agencies. A third file within the master file will have the actual
permits and renewal permits for each site.
This new system should allow quick and efficient access to the
records and provide for a timely review of any one site at any one
time.
Currently this Site M-77-044 is being used for road base foi
the main highway connecting San Luis, San Pablo, and San Francisco.
The County Commissioners have charged the Administrator with
the task of contacting wholesale and retail vegetation seed
providers for the purpose of implementing the reclamation projects
involving the pit gravel sites. The Administrator has also been
~(L. charged with locating and providing current maps of the gravel
sites.
The current County Commissioners realize that some of these
problems have existed throughout the 1970's and 1980's. Hopefully
you will recognize the progress that this administration has made
and is continuing to make.
Thank you very much for your attention to these matters.
Sincerely,
Victor C. Devereaux
VCD/cs
xc: Costilla County Commissioners
County Administrator
File
