1

42
' 1 that the Castle have put into this particular area have been very
2 disjointed. They called in a drainage engineer, and }ie did as

' 3 much as he could for the stream blockage. And he recommended a
~ 4 geotechnical engineer. They brought in Mark Heffner, who
5 recommended reclamation of the area subject to a geotechnical
6 engineer looking at it.
7 T
d h
e
hen they brought in the geotechnical engineer, an
' 8 hasn't even come up with other options, okay, or many options
9 other than flatten the slope. So--and there is no drainage plan.
' 10 There is nothing that ties all of these plans together to create
11 a plan that will work.
12 I d
f
ibl
b
t I
'
k
if i
'
i
ll
u
on
t even
now
ca
eas
e,
t
s econom
y
' 13 guess that is not my problem.
14 MR. O'CONNOR: Well, I recognize, you have not been on
15 the site, but you can't give a specific recommendation of exactly
16 how restoration should be accomplished. But you are testifying
t 17 that restoration is, basically, impossible to do, and s;o you are
' 18 recommending--I am asking in generic terms--are you an~.wering
19 that what you are recommending is impossible?
20 MR. HIMMELREICH: No, not necessarily. There are 5
21 feet--6 feet trees goes a long way as opposed to a 2-foot
22 seedling. Rebuilding of the slope to its--approximately to its
' 23 original figuration, engineering goes a long way to make it like
24 it use to be. Somewhere there is a happy medium, and I think we
' 25 all have to recognize complete restoration is impossible.
