199680759
Tectonic Construction Co.
St . Vrain River
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF AUTHORIZED WORK
In accordance with the terms and conditions of this Department of
the Army permit, Tectonic Construction Company is granted
authorization by the Secretary of the Army to impact waters of the
United States in conjunction with the bank protection project .
This project is located in Section 36 , Township 3 North, Range 68
West, Weld County, Colorado.
The applicant is authorized through an after-the-fact permit to
restore the breached River banks and reinforce the eroded areas by
placing 8 , 055 cubic yards (cy) of broken concrete, pit run sand,
gravel, and dirt below the ordinary high water mark of the River.
Approximately 3 , 777 feet of the St . Vrain River and its banks were
impacted by the placement of fill material or through excavation .
Excavation and fill impacts to the River banks were required
through the need to reshape the old channel back to its original
configuration.
Restoration of the area is authorized as follows : 1) That the
disturbed banks will be seeded/planted with native grasses and
shrubs to prevent erosion to the banks and silt material from
entering the River. 2) Three-hundred willows and three-hundred
cottonwood stakes will be planted along both banks of the River
during the months of January and February of 1997 .
4.
