Dec:. of f;a~url Re-~urces
This is in response to your letter of November 8, 1983, regarding specific
items on the reclamation plan.
1. The backsloping will be done on a 3 to 1 grade on all slopes.
2. The topsoil will be placed in the range of six inches to one foot. The
fencerow material is all topsoil that was deposited in the fencerows by
wind erosion. It is usually loam to sandy loam material. It is used in
our area for this type of purpose and does a very nice job.
3. The surface will be planted to a grass mixture using a drill. This seed-
ing operation will be done after the land has been properly prepared by
cultivation operations. It is also hoped that we will be able to water
or irrigate the land to get a good stand of grass as it is intended to
use this area as a park. Fertilizer will be applied in the recommended
levels after an analysis is done on the soil that is placed in the area.
It is expected that approximately 50 pounds of nitrogen and 50 pounds of
phosphate will be necessary at this time.
If you have any questions, please contact me at your convenience.
Yours very truly,
Norman L.
