I live in the Westcliffe, Colorado azea, and it has been brought to my attention that there
is an unlicensed gravel pit that is selling gravel off-site. The Gravel pit is located at the
Sierra Mo ado South Subdivision T23, R73W. The man who owns the lot that the gravel
is located on lives out o state an doesn't know a neighbor is stealing the gravel and
having it transported off-site. He has been assured that everything is legal, but it is not.
So far, the pit is missing about 4000 tons of grave]. '
The person who is taking the gravel is Arthur Von Bonnighausen his number is 866-
726-4737. He has moved it off-site on two occasions that am awaze of, the first being a
couple of years ago, he sold it to Alpine Lodge, a restaurant several miles away. Alpine
Lodge's phone # is 719-783-2660.
Last month he was at it again, this time he sold to two brothers, John Vimont, telephone #
719-783-3391 and John's brother, who lives out of the valley, and whose name and
number I do not know other than the last name Vimont. For this round of pilfering,
Myron Mullett Excavating moved the gravel. Their # is 719-783-2056. Arthur assured
Myron that this gravel pit was licensed, and I believe gave him the wrong co-ordinates so
that when Myron looked it up, he found the Schoolfield Pit T23 R72W, so he was duped
into believing what he was doing was legal as well.
Arthur also contacted a Realtor here in town and solicited some more of the gavel. This
man has not purchased any, but if you want to contact him you can. His name is Bob
Senderhauf, phone # [phone].
I sincerely hope you can stop this person, or at least fine him. He's one of those
individuals who think everyone else's possessions are his, has no morals or scruples, and
only cares about how much he can get away with.
