boundary. Considering that the initial maps submitted for the permit in 1977 and those
submitted for AM-O1 were hand-drawn, this new mapping is a significant step forwazd.
In refining the mill site maps in preparation construction a new interceptor canal at the tailings
impoundment, Henderson quickly noted that the Affected Land boundaries were inconsistent and
inaccurate in a number of areas. The 3429 Affected Land acres (3550 total acres less 121 acres
for the mine site) calculated by the DRMS upon approval of AM-04 is 97 acres short of the
accurate total. These additional acres are buffer and are located primarily in the area of the
tailings impoundment. Additional acres aze scattered throughout the mill site azea. The new
Affected Land map that accurately shows the Affected Land boundaries is presented in Exhibit
C. There is no change in the mine site map or the mine site Affected Land acreage at this time.
2.2 Xcel Energy Easement Deletion
Xcel Energy maintains asub-station easement within the Henderson property boundary at the
mill site (Exhibit C). This easement totals two (2) acres in a block and has been carried by
Henderson as part of the Affected Land since the sub-station was constructed. Since this sub-
station is not related to Henderson disturbance and belongs to Xcel, Henderson wishes to delete
these 2 acres from the Affected Land area.
2.3 New Henderson Operation Acreages
Following approval of AM-04 in 2003, DMG tabulated Henderson acreages as follows:
Permit azea: 11,877.5 acres
Private lands: 11,842.8 acres
Federal lands: 34.7 acres
Affected Land: 3549.8 acres
Approval of the changes proposed in AM-06 will change Henderson acreages by adding a net
total of 95 acres to the Affected Land area (97 acres - 2 acres Xcel easement) for a total Affected
Land acreage of 3644.8 acres (rounded to 3645 acres). Of this total, 3524 acres are at the mill
site and 121 acres (unchanged) are at the mine site.
3.0 THE EXHIBITS
All required exhibits are found in the "Exhibits" Appendix. However, for summation, each is
briefly described in this section.
Exhibit A -Legal Description: Unchanged.
Exhibit B -Index Map: Included.
Exhibit C -Pre-mining and Mining Plan Map of Affected Lands: On file at
DRMS. New map of mill site included that shows new Affected Land
