FINANCIAL WARRANTY
' ITEM NO. 23 RESPONSE: The following response is provided for
consideration relative to financial warranty for Items included in the C'AP.
a. We cannot provide a volume figure Por the amount of material to be
' moved because there is no way to obtain that information without
extensive remapping oP the entire site. Also, because at major x~ork
locations (Areas 1 and 4) we do not know what the "natural"
' topography is like under the pile, there is no way to calcu.~ate
accurately the volume of material to be moved iP it's depth is
indefinite. We are sorry, but this information simply cannot be
' obtained to the degree of accuracy you apparently require.
Our plan, as stated in the Corrective Action Plan, is to usc~ as
much of the material removed from one area for filling adjacent areas.
' This is the only economical way to proceed. Thus, most of the fill
for Area 1 will come from Area 4. Any excess material from area 4
will be hauled to the quarry for processing Into aggregate. Area 4
' was constructed using material that was only partly waste r~~ck.
There is a considerable amount of crushable rock present in the fill
and this can be easily processed into aggregate. The remains of this
reprocessing will be disposed oP as normal limestone waste.
' b. The soil stockpiles that will be used as the source Por the soil are
about 1/4 mile away from the sites.
' c. The silt retention facility will be constructed by cutting and fillin,~ of
native materials Pound at the site. The same is the case for the
' channel at the toe of Area 1, no other channel construction is
required.
d. There is no may we can provide this information.
