1
1
ITEM NO. 6 RESPONSE: The use of fertilizer tablets or a similar
treatment has always been a standard procedure when Castle Concirete
plants trees. We. feel the fertilizer tablets played an important role in the
outstanding success of the tree and shrub plantings on the visual berm and
believe the tablets or a similar treatment (e.g. Blosol application) l.s of
considerable importance. We will use fertilizer or similar treatments when
planting the trees, as usual.
' 4 ITEM NO. 6 RESPONSE: Because the area of disturbance is about 0.6 acre
and there is no heavy equipment earthwork needed ionly revegetatlon) we
Peel that a bond amount of $500 is reasonable. In fact, during our
' discussions with the Division staff prior to the completion oP your
adequacy letter, St is recalled that a $500 figure was briefly discussed :is a
sensible amount considering the limited amount of work needed to complete
' the reclamation.
QUARRY ACCESS ROAD RESPONSE
The response to the Quarry Access Road portion of the CAP addresses the
Plve (5) categories lndlcated in the Adequacy Letter. The items correspond to
' the referenced Letter with the numbering system being a continuation of the
previous i5) Items included In Phase I.
' A. HYDROLOGY & WATER QUALITY
ITEM NO. 7 RESPONSE: The six (5) proposed culvert crossings were
initially identified by reviewing the Drainage Basin Master Plan for the
' Cedar Heights area and the topographic mapping for the Snyder Quarry
and access road corridor. Subsequent field tnspectlons were made to
confirm and further refine the locations. This information was reported in
' the CAP. Each location Is unique with respect to the existing
entrance/exit conditions, skew angle, HW/D availability, side road drainage
etc. The CAP lndlcated a site by site design would be required for alt of
' the pertinent features and this is still the case.
Each site has, as a part of this response, been further examinedlin
the field. Site specific recommendations have been developed and are
included in the Preliminary Culvert Design portion of they0.ppendix of this
submittal.
' The Operator commits to the following relative to culvert design. A
field profile will be obtained at each location along the axis of the
culvert. In addition, any secondary drainage from road ditches, the truck
' ramps, visual berm terraces etc. will be 1Hentlfied. A detailed design u ith
pertinent elevations, slopes, entrance/exit features, bedding, HW/D ~:tc.
will be developed Por each crossing. Installation will be completed in
accordance with design recommendations. An 86-built of each installation
' - will be provided to the MLRD. All installations will be completed in
accordance with current Colorado Department of Highway (CDOH)
1
1
