Revegetation efforts will be monitored on a periodic basis to ensure that revegetation efforts are successful. In the event that revegetation is not successful, especially on steeper slopes (2H: ] V), Denison will attempt to re-vegetate the area by alternative methods which might include new erosion control technologies, slope reduction, mulching, or hydroseeding. If successive efforts to re-vegetate the area are unsuccessful, the areas will be regraded to ensure revegetation. E.1.2.3 Fertilization No fertilizers will be applied to revegetated areas. Experience has shown that in areas where soils historically have exhibited nutrient limitations, the reclaimed soils also continue to be low in plant-available nutrient content; as a result, the use of fertilizers has resulted in the proliferation of invasive species populations and prohibited the growth of native species (www.forester.net). E.2 Proposed Reclamation Schedule The anticipated life of the Topaz Mine is 20 years. Based on this estimation, reclamation of the mine area will commence in 2027, immediately following mine closure. Reclamation activities are estimated to take 8 to 10 weeks. Monitoring of the mine area is expected to continue for an additional 3 years.
