waste (including, but not limited to, tires, hoses, and plastic sheeting) will be disposed of in a roll-
off container. The container will be emptied and contents disposed of on a regular basis by a
mine contractor. All solid waste will be properly disposed of in accordance to state and local
regulations.
Vent Holes -Denison plans to install four vent holes, T-2 through T-5, between 2007 and 2010.
For the purposes of this report, the surface disturbance associated with these vent holes, in
conjunction with the expansion of the surface facilities affected area, is referred to as the
proposed surface disturbance. The approximate locations of the proposed vent holes will be in
the expected areas of mine lateral and room development as indicated on Figure C-3. The exact
locations of the proposed vent holes are dependent on the configuration of the future mine
workings and future air quality in the mine and, therefore, cannot be determined at this time.
When additional ventilation to the mine workings is required, exact locations will be determined
and provided to the BLM and DRMS. In general; however, proposed vent holes will be located
as close as practicable to existing roads, to minimize additional surface disturbance. Proposed
access roads to these vent holes are shown on Figure C-3. The access roads and vent holes will
be reclaimed following the closure of the Topaz Mine.
Proposed vent holes are expected to be approximately 6 feet in diameter, similar to vent hole T-I .
The surface disturbance associated with proposed vent holes alone will be minimal
(approximately Y< acre). The total surface disturbance associated with the vent hole roads will
vary based on the proximity of each vent hole to existing roads. Estimated surface disturbance
areas for all of the proposed vent hole access roads is estimated to total approximately 2.5 acres,
as shown in Table D-I. A metal diffuser will be installed above the proposed opening. The
diffusers will be about 4 to 5 feet tall, screened on top to prevent entry, and painted a "Military
Olive" color to blend in with the surroundings.
E~Ioration -Exploration drilling will take place concurrent with mine operation. It is
anticipated that approximately 50 surface holes will be drilled annually, creating 2 to 3 acres of
surface disturbance. Areas disturbed by drilling will be reclaimed immediately following drilling.
All exploration will be conducted under astate-wide prospecting bond compliant with the
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Act. Denison submitted astate-wide prospecting bond to
DRMS and the BLM on April 25, 2007.
5-18-2007 Exhibit D Mining Plan D-10
