Exhibit D
Minine Plan
D.1 PERIOD OF OPERATION
Present production of ore began in March 2007. Ore production is expected to take place at
various rates over a period of 20 years, until 2027.
D.2 ACCESS ROUTES
Access to the Topaz Mine portal and the Sunday Mine Complex is from County Road 20R,
located to the south of the Sunday Mine Complex. The Mine Complex is located 9 miles west of
Colorado Highway 141. The location of the Topaz Mine is shown on the Index Map, Figure B-1.
D.3 EXISTING DISTURBANCE AND STRUCTURES
This section describes the existing disturbance and structures at the Topaz Mine.
D.3.1 Project Background and History of Mining
The Topaz Mine is one of five mines located in the Sunday Mine Complex; along with the
Sunday, West Sunday, Carnation, and St. Jude Mines. Exploration in the Topaz azea of the
Sunday Mine Complex was begun in 1977 by Pioneer Nuclear. A Colorado Mine Permit was
issued to Pioneer Nuclear in February of 1981. This permit was transferred to Umetco Minerals
Corporation in 1985. The Topaz Mine decline was started in the mid-1980's; however, as past
work at the mine consisted of developing surface facilities and driving the main decline, no ore
was produced from the mine unti12007. In 1994, Umetco transferred all of the Sunday Mine
Complex to Energy Fuels Nuclear, Inc. ("Energy Fuels"). International Uranium Corporation
("IUC") acquved the mines from Energy Fuels in May 1997. In December of 2006, Denison
merged with IUC, and the combined entity that currently holds claim rights and permitting
responsibility for the Sunday Mine Complex is Denison. Mine operations at the Topaz to date
have included the development of approximately 4,000 feet of underground workings. The
Sunday Mine Complex is entirely on BLM Land. Each mine has a mine shop and other surface
facilities.
5-18-2007 Exhibit D Mining Plan D-1
