It is my
understanding that the clay mine permit #22T1/16S is /incited to a nine (9) acre area. I have
had the surveyors do preliminary work and they estimate the disturbed area to be at least I S
acres. In addition, the rock mining lease #3038/16-S is for rock used rip-rap, road metal,
ballast decorative rock and building stone There is not any raining permit issued far
#3038/16-S by the Divisions of minerals and Geology. It is my understanding that the mining
ojthese rocks is limited to what's on the surface
I have discussed the above situation with Mr. Jim Dille ojyour department and he
recommended that we correspond with you directly. We feel that there are lease and mining
violations on this properly. It would be greatly appreciated if you could inspect this properly
rrs to nny violations by fhese parties.
I have enclosed copies ojthe leases for you use. Please feel free to contact me directly
if you have any further questions or comments.
Enclosures:
Sincerely,
~y~ .
oseph R 0' rien,
Vice-President
~ III IIIIIIIIIIIII III
~~
~~CEIVED
urC 12 1996
~~::aun ur Minerals & Geo,u~,
7600 South I-25 Pueblo, CO 81004 Office: 719-564-6367 Fax: 719-564-7338
