MI.RD also brought up other discussion items:
o In regard to AFO's concerns at Newlin Creek and Bacon Mines
regarding post mine land use for roads, MI,RD asked what kind of
information or evaluation was needed. AFO replied that, when
reclamation and postmine land use are addressed in the MRP, any roads
to be retained at bond release should also be discussed in the MRP
with appropriate documentation provided to support the postmining
land use. Thus, no postmine land use change for such roads would
have to be separately addressed at the time of a proposed bond
release.
o MLRD also expressed concern with AFO's delay in issuance of a TDN
after a May 31, 1990, joint inspection at the New Elk Mine. AFO
agreed that the policy of TDN issuance from the Field Office can
result in some delay and that there was an untimely issuance of this
TDN in particular. AFO noted that the delay was also attributable to
some drawn-out post-inspection phone discussions/information requests
between AFO and MI.RD inspectors.
5
