We would like to take this
opportunity to provide .you with the latest information concerning our
efforts to bring this operation into compliance with our law.
As you may be aware, MLRD Reclamation Specialist John Doerfer wds previously
responsible for the inspections and any possible enforcement actions necessary
for this site. Mr. Doerfer is no longer with our Division and, although he
had previously inspected this site, was not able to complete his inspection
report prior to leaving our offices. Because this inspection report is the
legal basis for starting a record of an operator's compliance problems, we
will have to reinspect the site and develop this report.
It is our intent to revisit the site sometime within the first two weeks in
July of 1991. By then we will have hired a new surface water hydrologist to
assume the regulatory oversite responsibilities of this operation. When we
reinspect this site, we will pay particular attention to both your previous
concerns and the new ones raised in your recent letter. We hope to then take
these matters to our Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board in August of 1991.
Once again, thank you for your continued participation. Please call me if we
can he of further service.
Sincerely,
~LL~~ Gl R.~l'L+~.;~~~c
Daniel I.
