From the discussions the Division has had with you
and with Mr. Ken Lutz of the Natural Resource Conservation Service (formerly SCS), we
are in agreement with the seeding of a cover crop of forage sorghum at a rate of 10 Ib/acre.
The Division also agrees that seeding of the permanent approved seedmix and mulching
should be scheduled for the Fall 1995 seeding window. Mulching for the establishment of
a cover crop is not required.
Repair of rills and gullies should occur prior to cover crop seeding. Establishment of a
cover crop will satisfy the requirement to stabilize the soil. Mulching and seeding of
permanent seedmix shall occur during the Fall of 1995.
Please contact me if you have additional questions.
Sincerely,
G ~ I
„n
H.
