Some ground will be lost to the open pit operation,
but this will improve the interspersion of the habitats and while some species will
suffer other species will benefit from the operation.
Mine Reclamation recommendations (includQ key species/habitats for which restoration
is designed). Topsoil should be placed on areas of the site as soon as the removal
operation is completed. Fences should be erected around these areas to keep live-
stock off of them. This will give an extended time period for grasses to become
established. Small depressions (100 X 200 feet) should be left and brush species
planted in them to improve habitat for scaled quail and cottontail rabbit.
Prepared By: C ,~rr'nf•iFF_TFrH_ rl _ Dale: 12L0.196
Submitted By: Date:
This statement is void if not processed within 1 year.
This analysis does not constitute approval of application.
n ,ro ~ of ?
