Retired <br />December 1993. Consulting Forester 1994 -present. <br />Forester: Durango, CO and Pagosa Springs, CO, 1959-1967 with primary duties in <br />timber sale preparation and management. Prepared, laid out, marked, cruised, and administered <br />timber sales in ponderosa pine, mixed conifer, and spruce stands. Conducted spruce beetle <br />surveys. <br />District Forest Ranger: White River and Routt National Forests, Aspen, CO and <br />Steamboat Springs, CO. 1967-1972. Duties included overall management of the District <br />including recreation management with major ski areas, special use administration, timber sale <br />management, and environmental analysis. <br />Forest Planner: Routt National Forest, Steamboat Springs, CO. 1972-1977. Duties <br />included the prepazation of plans and alternatives for the management of Units of the Routt <br />National Forest. Included were contact and coordination with other government agencies and <br />private landowners along with leading a 5-person "core" team. Prepazed three EISs for Unit <br />Management Plans. Conducted two Wild and Scenic River studies. <br />Planner and Program Manager for the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, Sawtooth <br />National Forest, Ketchum, ID. 1978-1988. Duties included supervising the management of <br />timber stands primarily for esthetics purposes. Sales were primarily lodgepole pine and aspen. I <br />supervised a professional staff of six. Activities included bark beetle evaluations and attack <br />prevention in high valued sites. <br />Regional Environmental Coordinator: Intermountain Region, Ogden, UT. 1988-1993. <br />Handled oversight, review, training, and conformance to the National Environmental Policy Act <br />(NEPA) for the Intermountain Region. Lead a Total Quality Management team reviewing <br />problems with failures of the NEPA process. Reviewed NEPA documents for the Regional <br />Forester. <br />
