and berms have been or will be constructed to prelude surface water
contact with waste rock materials.
The granitic waste rock has not exhibited aad-generation characteristics
to date, nor is k anticipated to be aad-generating. Mineralogic discussion
of the waste rods material is provided under Item (d) -Waste Rods and
Ore Characteristics.
(d) Thickness of the Deposit to be Mined
The Cash and Who Do Mine Project is an underground, nan-ow-vein
operation. Individual veins are steeply dipping (near vertical) and will vary
in thickness, but will generally range from 1- to 3-feet in thickness in most
areas to be mined. More detailed information pertaining to the various
vein systems antidpated to be encountered is contained within the Permit
No. M-83-141 file.
(e) Mine Operations
Mining methods are not anticipated to vary significantly from the methods
employed in initial development of the prospect alit. However, operations
will be shifted to a mode that optimizes development of ore zones and ore
recovery. Some mod cations and/or improvements to the existing alit
are antidpated to akxommodate production, primarily as relating to
conversion from rubber-tire to rail haulage.
initial ore production is antidpated to occur from areas accessible to the
Cash, Freiberg, St. Joe, and Mack vein systems. It is anticipated that ore
production will rapidly achieve the planned nominal 50 tons per day (tpd)
rate.
The mine will employ a resuing mining method on the steeply dipping and
narrow quartz veins. Track haulage will continue to lie utilized to remove
both ore and developmental waste rock. Ore will be routed to the
combination ore biNloadout facility (to be constructed), whereas waste
rock will be utilized to extend or level the waste rodk stockpile to its full
design capadty. It is antidpated that once ore production is underway,
some portion of the waste rods volume can be retained underground in
mined out slopes.
The mine will utilize conventional types of small mine equipment such as
air compressors, jadkleg drills, stopers, mucking machines, slushers,
trammers and ore cars, mechanical and/or electrical pumps, and electric
fan ventilation. Conventional explosives will be used to break both ore
and waste.
The normal mining production sequence will consist of drilling and
blasting of ore and/or waste; mucking out or removing the ore or waste to
cars for transport to the portal area; and, delivery of the ore to the Gold
Hill Mill (or waste rodk to the stockpile). The overall sequence will occur
over a period of a few days, dependent on the length of slope and/or
Fxh(bit C -Mining PWn
