BOX 100 ExecutiveDireuor <br />San Luis, CO 81152 Mi~nael e. long <br />Division Direuor <br />RE: Costilla County Landfill Pit (Permit M-80-233) Continuation of <br />consideration by Mined Land Reclamation Board of the issuance of a <br />Notice of Violation, Cease and Desist Order, Corrective Actions and <br />Order to Pay Civil Pettalty for failure to comply with the <br />requirements of Rule 3.1.7 (2). <br />Dear Mr. Jaramillo: <br />On August 24, 1995, the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board <br />conducted a formal public hearing to consider the possible issuance <br />of a Notice of Violation, Cease and Desist Order, Corrective <br />Actions and Order to Pay Civil Penalty for failure to comply with <br />the requirements of Rule 3.1.7 (2). <br />As a result of that hearing, the Board continued consideration of <br />the matter until the September 27-28, 1995 meeting of the Board. <br />The Board indicated that the matter should not be brought back <br />before the Board unless. an agreement cannot be reached between <br />Costilla County and the Division as to a plan to be followed by the <br />County which will result in compliance with the requirements of <br />Rule 3.1.7 (2). <br />If you have any questions on the above, please contact me. <br />Sincerely, <br />~4.Ni•ts:~ C <br />James C Stevens <br />Sr. Env ental Protection Specialist <br />95N078 <br />
