State Engineer We have reviewed your December 28, 2001 submittal requesting renewal of the substitute water supply plans for the above referenced gravel pits owned by Transit Mix Concrete Co. The required $217 fee has been paid. This approval will cover the period February 1, 2002 through January 31, 2003. This year's plan is similar to the last year's, except that mining at the Pueblo West Pit is expected to be completed by the end of May and the Pueblo.East Pit, which had been inactive, is anticipated to begin mining operations in April. below. Site depletions consist of evaporation losses, pumping for concrete production (100% loss), excavation of wet product and pumping for product washing (4% loss by product weight), and pumping for truck clean-out (10% loss rate). The monthly distribution of the values, and the lagged affects on the Arkansas River, are detailed on your Tables 1 and 3, which are attached. At the Pueblo West pit pumping for batch plant and material washing are through well nos. 1406303 (Permit 15980-F; through two totalizing flow meters), 1406304 (Permit 51316-F; through two totalizing flow meters) and 1406305 (Permit 51317-F; through two totalizing flow meters) and pumping for truck clean-out is through well no. 1406298 (Permit 51609-F; through two totalizing flow meters). Use of these wells for these purposes is covered by this plan. The only consumption at the Pueblo East Pit will be due to evaporation and water retained on product, with all hatching, truck washing, and dust control water to be provided from city water supply.
