Abatement Requirements
(Permit No: M-88-112)
As abatement for the Notice of Probable Violation issued to BattleiMountain
Gold (BMG) on March 31, 1992, the Division imposes the following performance
requirements.
(1) Increase tailings area security.
(Z> Assess the environmental impact of the violation.
t3> Accelerate frequency of tailings area environmental monitoring.
(4) Cyanide detoxification of the tailings.
(5> Develop a collection pond leak detection system effluent)
containment plan.
(6) Develop a cyanide detection, interception, containment ahd
remedial treatment plan.
(7) Modify ore processing methodology.
(8> Modify tailings area reclamation plan.
(9) Modify tailings area environmental monitoring plan.
(10) Adjust financial assurance, if required.
(11) Develop a "critical path" project management schedule.
(1Z) Modify water quality monitor sampling & analysis protocoj.
