CO 80203 <br />RE: Notice of Violation No. G93-087 <br />Request for Abatement Extension <br />Raton Creek Mine -Permit No. C-82-055 <br />Dear Mr. Erickson: <br />X303)623-8317 <br />Iwz 9.0-937-2567 <br />RFC~It/FD <br />SEA 2 g 1993 <br /> <br />With this letter Energy Fuels Mining Company (EFMC) hereby requests ao extension of time for <br />abatement for above referenced Notice of Violation No. C-93-087. <br />Required Remedial Action: 1) Install approved sediment control structures, 2 and 3) Submit new <br />designs for sediment control that captures all surface drainage and treats it prior to'leavingithe permit area, <br />or retains it on site within anon-dischazgiog facility, and 4) Implement new designs within 15 days <br />following TR approval. <br />`~'~Curreof Abatement Status: EFMC has subnutted a request for full bond release of the Burlington <br />Northern (BN) 'loadout site and a proposal for wmecting the cited drainage concerns at both Santa Fe <br />loadout areas: EFMC is`in process of final reclamation of the Santa Fe loadouts scheduled for completion in <br />early October. Completion of said reclamation in accordance with the permit should eliminiate any need for <br />retention of drainage control structures. <br />The required abatement date for Steps 1 - 3 is September 24, 1993, Io order for the Division to <br />complete their review of the above mentioned submittals and for EFMC to implement any required <br />construction work, EFMC is requesting extension of the abatement date for NOV C-93-087 to October 29, <br />1993. <br />Please contact me if you have any questions or require additional information concerning this <br />ryaest. _ _ _- <br />Sincerely, <br />Allen S.
