l.J
•
APPENDIX-B
Attached are work sheets that are obtained as part of Soil Conservation Service,
Engineering Division, Technical Release 55. The sheets were used to make
calculations of estimates of the runoff of a 10-yr 24-hr storm event that would fall
directly on the waste rock dump and ore storage area. The azea is 2 acre in size. The
calculations show that a storage volume of approximately 24,110 gal would be
needed to contain the runoff of a 10-yr event. This will flow approximately equally
toward each end of the waste rock area, so that a catchment at each end will need to
be able to contain about 12,000 to 14,000 gal. Two catchments of about 30'x30'x2'
deep will be sufficient. They are shown on Facilities Plan Map C-2. These will be
cleaned out as needed, following any significant storms that deposit sediment in the
catchments.
