F, Suite 101 <br />Durango, CO 81301 <br />Re: Notice of intent to resume operations at West Sunday Mine, Permit No. M- <br />81-021; Sunday Mine, Permit No. M-77-285; Carnation Mine, Permit No. <br />M-77-416; St. Jude Mine, Permit No. M-78-039; and Topaz Mine, Permit <br />No. M-080-039. <br />Dear Mr. Erickson: <br />On May 9, 1997, the Division of Minerals and Geology approved succession <br />of operations from Energy Fuels Nucleaz, Inc. to International Uranium (USA) <br />Corporation ("IUSA") for the subject operations. IUSA hereby notifies the Colorado <br />Department of Natural Resources, Division of Minerals and Geology of our intent to <br />resume operations for production of uranium and vanadium ore at the following <br />mines in San Miguel County, Colorado; <br />• West Sunday Mine, Permit No. M-81-021 <br />• Sunday Mine, Permit No. M-77-285 <br />• Carnation Mine, Permit No. M-77-416 <br />• St. Jude Mine, Permit No. M-78-039 <br />• Topaz Mine, Permit No. M-080-039 <br />Our files indicate that these mines have been on standby and were granted <br />temporary cessation status until the mazket for uranium and vanadium improved <br />sufficiently to justify reactivation. Change from temporary cessation status is <br />requested effective immediately; production is expected to continue until at least the <br />end of 1998. <br />
