NOTICE OF FILING APPLICATION FOR TECHNICAL REVISION
TO AMERICAN SODA LLP'S COLORADO MINED LAND RECLAMATION
` PERMIT N0. M-99-002.
NOTICE TO THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
RIO BLANCO COUNTY
American Soda, LLP (the "Applicant/Operator") has applied for a Technical
Revision to its Reclamation Permit No. M-99-002 from the Colorado Mined
Land Reclamation Board (the "Board") to conduct mining operations in Rio
Blanco County. The attached Application for Technical Revision is being
provided to notify you of the nature of the proposed Technical Revision of
the terms of the above Reclamation Permit. The entire Application is on
file with the Division of Minerals and Geology (the "Division") and the Rio
Blanco County Clerk and Recorder. The purpose`of this Application for
Technical Revision is to incorporate into the above referenced Reclamation
Permit ambient groundwater data and permit conditions protective of
groundwater. The mine is known as the Yankee Gulch Sodium Minerals
Project and is located at or near Sections 15 - 22, 28 and 29, Township
1 South, Range 97 West of the 6°' P.M., Rio Blanco County, Colorado.
The applicant/operator proposes to reclaim the affected land to
agricultural and wildlife habitat use. Pursuant to Section 34-32-116(7)(j),
C.R.S., the Board is required to confer with the local Board of County
Commissioners before approving the suggested Technical Revision.
Accordingly, the Board would appreciate your comments on the proposed
Application for Technical Revision. Please note that, in order to preserve
your right to a hearing before the Board on this application, you must
submit written comments on the application within ten (10) days after the
date of the applicant's newspaper publication on August 3, 2000.
