a Field irrigation efficiency = 60%.
0 Irrigated acreage = 12.5 acres out of 61.5 total acres.
• Net crop consumptive use requirement = 139 ac-ft/ac.
• No credit for soil moisture build-up from prior irrigation.
The analysis, which is summarized in Table B-3, indicated an average annual
consumptive use of irrigation water of about 17.1 acre-feet on the 12.5 acres which have been
`driefl up• _ — — --
Temporary Substitute Stirppy Plan
During 1990 and 1991, the stream depletions resulting from evaporation losses from
the exposed water surface at the Challenger Pit is estimated to be about 11.4 acre-feet per
year. WMI seeks to operate a temporary substitute supply plan using the 20 shares of the
IRU and Brush water right. These shares will be dedicated to the Big Thompson River for
the duration of the temporary plan and the historic consumptive use credits attributable to
the water right will be used to offset or replace the net stream depletion caused by
kevaporation at the pit. Table B-4 is a summary of the monthly depletion for the projected
operation of the Challenger Pit, together with the monthly consumptive use credits which
derive from the Hill and Brush water right available to WAG and discussed above. From
Table B-4, it can be seen that the consumptive use credits (17.1 acre feet/year) exceed the
replacement requirement (11.4 acre-feet/year). It is concluded that operation of the
temporary plan as described herein is sufficient to prevent injury to other water users.
4
