The site is located approxi tely two miles
north of Johnstown and 3 miles east of I-25 and is adjacent to the Big Thompso River. A
vicinity map is included for your reference. The site will be dry mined, therefor groundwater
will only be exposed in the settling ponds, dewatering trench, and collection bas .
Consumptive uses for the mining operation include water used for dust control, ater retained in
product hauled off site, and evaporation from the settling ponds, dewatering tren hes, collection
basin and an existing pit which has been allowed to fill.
Replacement water will be provided by Hill and Brush Ditch shares and leased ater from the
City of Loveland.
