amendment, since the bulk of the gravel mine reserves exist north of the gold plant azea. Once
• the 110 azea is graded, it will be covered with fines from the operation and/or Stockpiles #1 or
~ #4. Since the 110 azea is approximately 11.8 aaes, the amount of fines needed to cover the area
with 3 inches thickness is 4759 cy. The topsoil will be spread and graded with a small dozer (AS
size) to ensure that no equipment compaction occurs.
Although a lazge portion of the post-mine site will be used for residential use, all azeas (other
than roads or ponds) will be covered with substitute fines or topsoil to a depth of 2.5"-3" after
final grading.
Of the 28.7 disturbed acres in the north mine area, 2.8 acres will remain as ponds and 2.8 acres
will remain as roads, therefore, only 23.1 acres will require the substitute fines. Using a 3"
average thickness, this requires 9317 cy. This volume will have been stockpiled at either of the
two locations (Piles #1 and #4) and is also the volume that will be required to be spread at the
end of the mine life.
•; Therefore, at the end of the mine life, final grading will be needed on 23.1 acres, followed by
topsoil(substitute fines) replacement and revegetation on the same azeas. All portable buildings
and tanks will be removed except for the shop/office building wnstructed neaz the pit entrance.
This building and associated parking azea will remain for commercial use after reclamation.
The following table shows the tasks for full reclamation of the gravel pit azea.

Alma Placer 7/03 41
