be washed using jigs, sluices and shaking tables. There aze no crushers in the plant. It is a fixed
metal stmcture on a concrete foundation of 60' x 60' footprint. The washed, waste gravel material
.' from the plant will be stockpiled using a 36" stacker from the plant. The gravel will be taken by the
gravel operator for sizing and sales. Any gravel material from the plant that is not sold by the gravel
operator will be backfdled into reclaimed areas on the site.
Most of the gold bearing gravel is expected to be located below water table, therefore, a pump will
be located below the working azea in each cut to dewater the pit prior to mining. It is expected that
inflows to the pump will be approximately 1000 gpm. This amount will be pumped from the pit to
the sediment pond system.
The following operation pazameters are forecast:
- 6 month per yeaz operation
- active operation will be maximum 6 days per week, 12 hours per day
- move an average of 2000 c3' of overburden per day
- process a maximum of 1000 cy per day of gold bearing gravel through the prep plant
' - a 5" rock grizzly will be Located in the active pit to avoid transporting large rock to the prep plant
•~
- strip an average of 4" of topsoil on virgin areas and either directly respread on previously mined
and regraded areas or place in a stockpile for use in reclamation.
It is expected that the swell of the virgin gravel material when mined will be 20%, however, since
the lower 5-10' zone of gold bearing gravel will be processed and then sold as road base and other
construction material, the net gain/loss in mining virgin areas is zero.
Each mining cut is approximately 300' long x 150' wide. Overburden will average approximately
20' depth while the gold bearing gravel will average approximately 7.5' depth. Therefore, the
overburden to remove for each cut is 300'x150'x20' = 33,333 cy. The gold gravel is 300'x150'x7.5' _
12,500 cy. Since approximately 15% of the gravel is greater than 5" size, 85% or 10,625 cy will be
sent to the plant for each cut. Therefore, the plant operation for each cut will take approximately 11
days. Due to other operations such as topsoil removal and replacement, overburden removal and
regrading, pump setup and other items, it is assumed that each cut will take approximately 45 days
Alma Placer 7/03 10
