the old piles, the site can be leveled and the processing will also produce a fine material that will be
used as a substitute topsoil to revegetate the site. Also, it is desired that a portable concrete plant be
brought tb the site for short periods to satisfy specific jobs. The original plan submitted to the town of
Alma included the allowance of an asphalt plant on site. The town voiced opposition to this plant,
even on a short term basis. In order to cooperate with the town, the permittee hereby states that no
asphalt plant will be placed on site at any time without written permission from the town of Alma.
For the changes described above, it has been decided to amend the existing gold placer mining 112
permit M-85-029 to include a much larger sand and gravel mining area, to include a portable
concrete plant, as well as provide good reclamation standards for all areas re-disturbed. Minor
changes to the gold mining operation have also been incorporated into this amendment of August,
2003.
It is the hope of the Ducommun Business Tmst that the additional gravel mining will restore the land
to an attractive, usable condition which is good for the Tmst as well as the town of Alma. The Trust
eventually would like to develop those areas reclaimed into a residential area with commercial uses
along Highway 9. Some open space with ponds would also be incorporated into the final plan.
Alma Placer 7/03 2
