We fear contamination of the area water table and
the Rito Seco Creek, which runs through the heart of San Luis. We are concerned with
the possible impacts of the current water treatment plant being shut down.
Further, the Town of San Luis Board of Trustees objects fo:
1) A proposal to close the water treatment facility located near Rito Seco Creek on
the Battle Mountain Resources, Inc. property; and
2) A proposal to irrigate the Battle Mountain Resources, Inc. property, formerly
known as Shalom Ranch, with water that should have been processed through
the water treatment plant which is currently in operation; and
3} Any proposed changes that may be harmful to or negatively impact the citizens
of San Luis and its neighboring communities within Costilla County.
Respectfully, ,
j' V
G~'hn'stopher odriguez,
Mayor
E T:_
e Jo Nors orth ,Town Clerk
Xc: File
