STAGING AREA - 36.0 acres wilhm the permit boundary is designated as a staging area and rs also <br />desgnated Phase I. Several activities ancillary to the mining operation occur wAhin the graveled surfaced area. <br />The dominate use m the staging area is the stockpiling of raw and processed resource. In addrtron to asphalt <br />and concrete production plants, the following activities may occur within the stagrng area: <br />^ Truck Scale- <br />^ Portable Office. <br />^ Fuel Storage. <br />^ Equipment Parking and Maintenance <br />^ Resource Stockp~l~ng <br />^ Lab and Tool Trailer Parking <br />^ Seasonal Watchman's Residence (self contained RV) <br />RECEIVyyE~~~~D <br />~~ 2 2 L{NJ <br />0ivialvn of Mlnereb and Gnalor <br />above ground tanks and will <br />the conta~nmenl area. <br />the event that a sp i s <br />of tools and <br />During a routine inspection of the facility an underground oil storage tank was identified near the norM boundary <br />tine for Phase I and Staging Area and is depicted on Sheet 2 of Exhibrl "C" This tank pre-dates the mining <br />operation and was most likely used as a storage vessel for heating oil. The tank will be decommissroned prbr <br />to the end of the last quarter of 2003 The following protocol will be implemented for the removal of the tank: <br />Step 1. The product will be pumped from the tank while in place by a licensed oil recycler <br />Step 2. The tank will Then t>e excavated <br />Step 3. Any product not removed from the tank during pumping will be drained into a swtable <br />container and disposed of in contunctron with other used oil products generated on the site, <br />Step 4 Once the lank x completely drained it vnll then be crushed using tracked equipment <br />Step 5.
