September 30, 1989
Jack Crichton
American Shield Coal
Suite 175
10830 North Central
Dallas, Texas 75231
Hr. Crichton:
Compaay~
Ezpreasway
I am the surface owner of a portion of the land within American
Shield's Pruita Hine area. The legal description of the land in
the area of the mine is as follows: Township 85, Range lOlw,
Section 30, H} of the NE}.
~ It is my underatandinq that the site is to be reclaimed in the
near future. Thin letter is to inform all iatereated partites
that I desire the bench area (formally used for the Fruits ¢1
portal area} and its aaaociated acceaa road to remain after
reclaa~atioa. I also underatsnd that the beach may need to be
modified slightly to provide better elope stability.
The bench area has excellent views of the Colorado River valley
not found often is the Book Cliffs due to the poor acceaa. The
bench area is now well vegetated with graaaea and dgea not have a
runoff problem. I would like to use the beach area for occasional
recreation, poaaibly installing a picnic table and a barbecue
pit. The site is significantly more valuable to me in this
configuration than the pre-mining steep elope. The pre-miming
slope wan too steep for nay use other than wildlife habitat.
Dan H. Lynch
305 N.E. 170th
Seattle, Hashington 98155
r
Sincerely yours,
Dan K. Lynch ~~
G7
