Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
Grand Junction,/Colorado 81502 /
Re: Chambers Pit, Permit No. M-1979-075, Technical Revision TR-02, Approval.
Dear Mr. Kerr:
The Division of Minerals and Geology has reviewed United's submission of a Technical Revision to use
the existing haul road within the Chambers Pit permit area as a temporary haul road from the Glen Pit to
the plant facilities at the Chambers Gravel Pit, Permit No. M-1979-205. Staff understands that the
requested TR is in response to the length of time estimated by the railroad to build the permanent
crossing as originally planned.
Since the road in essence already exists, no adjustment to the reclamation bond is necessary at this time.
However, reclamation tasks will need to be accomplished when the temporary use is complete or other
revisions are made if it becomes a permanent arrangement. Therefore, staff is pleased to inform United
that TR-02 is approved.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and
Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South Third Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado
81501, telephone no. 970-241-1117.
Sincerely,
G.
