York-Feirn
Mined Land Reclamation Division
1313 Sherman Street, Room 2l5
Denver, Colorado 80203
Dear Mr. York-Feirn,
cvuncd Lz.n~•
r ~^"apt
nf"r"in'
-~ o(`I.
~ ~, ~
n1-ka-dab'
On May 28, 1992, the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board ordered Gold Hill
Ventures and Colina Oro Molino, Inc. to complete the following corrective action regarding
the Gold Hill Mill's tailings pond liner:
1. Provide the Division with a copy of the vacuum test results for all patches made
on the liner.
2. Provide the Division with an adequate monitoring plan to assure that no rips or
holes occur again in the tailings pond liner.
In compliance with this order, we are attaching copies of the test results for all of the
patches made on the rips and holes in the tailings pond liner by Nilex Plastics, the company
that repaired the liner. In order to assure that no rips or holes occur in the tailings pond liner
again, aneight-foot game fence was erected around the tailings pond. Since all of the rips and
holes in the tailings pond liner were caused by deer hooves, this game fence will prevent
future rips and holes from occumng in the liner. During milling operations, the tailings pond
liner will be inspected periodically to insure that all of the patches are holding, and that no
new rips and holes are present. If any are detected, they will be repaired using the approved
extrusion welder method.
Very truly yours,
~~Qltk ~ . ~~ta.r.
Mark A.
