':
2.7 Miscellaneous Monitoring
Miscellaneous monitoring to be required for the San Luis
Project includes monitoring required primarily for reclamation.
Testing of the reclamation soils will be performed to determine any
amendments that might be required. This testing will Ibe performed
at the time that the soils are to be used for reclamation.
Other testing includes performing an EP toxicit}1 test on any
sludge present in the collection pond upon completion ofloperations.
3.0 Reoortina Requirements
All monitoring data collected will be reviewed by a qualified
individual. Data collected on the tailings disposal area will be reported
to a professional engineer familiar with the design and ope~ation of the
facilities. This engineer will compare and evaluate the record d monitoring
against anticipated performance of the tailings disposal area. When
significant variation from anticipated performance is d~tected, the
engineer will notify the design engineer who will estabhish whether
modifications to the design or remedial measures are required. The data
collected as part of the tailings monitoring program will be ~ompiled into
an annual report for submittal to the MLRD. Any sionificant variation which
as soon as the data is obtained and BMR will work with the M~RD to obtain
approval for any required modification to the approved plane
Surface and groundwater monitoring results will be Compiled and
evaluated as part of the project's annual report. As part oflthe approved
permit BMR committed to monitoring groundwater in wells ad,~acent to the
~ ~•heap leach facility on a monthly basis and submitting the re~ults as they
became available. This program will be applied to the tailings disposal
facility and the groundwater wells in the vicinity of the tailings disposal
area will be monitored monthly with the results reported monthly. In
addition, any significnat changes in the monitoring results will be
reported to the MLRD as soon as these results are available,
