There are no known occurrences or critical habitats of any State or <br />Federal threatened or endangered species in the project azea. One specie of special concern interest in the <br />azea is the Greater Sandhill Crane. These birds use the area azound the Funk Gravel Pit extensively in the <br />fall and spring during their migration. One common cause of accidental death for these birds is the <br />striking of power lines. If any power lines aze to be constructed as a part of this project it would be <br />helpful to mazk them in some fashion to make them more visible to these birds. <br />Don't hesitate to contact me if I can be of additional help. <br />Sincerely, <br />-,~~. <br />James M.
