Townsend Avenue <br />Montrose, Colorado 81401 <br />(970) 249-5285 -PHONE <br />(970) 249-6018 -FAX <br />June 28, 2006 <br />Bob Gillie, Public Works Director <br />Town of Crested Butte <br />PO Box 39 <br />Crested Butte, CO 81224 <br />Dear Bob <br />OT <br />~~~~~~ <br />~~~ <br />~~ ~~ <br />On May 24, 2006 myself and CDOT Maintenance Supervisor Ray David met with you along SH 135 <br />(MM 26.6) to review your proposal to excavate material from within CDOT Right-Of-Way to be used <br />to reclaim your gravel pit that borders CDOT property in this area. <br />This letter is written notification that CDOT approves your proposal and agrees that excavating the <br />material from CDOT property will not in any way adversely impact our facility. <br />As we discussed, you will be required to apply for and secure a CDOT Utility Permit which authorizes <br />third party work on CDOT property. The permit will require you to provide sufficient construction <br />traffic control to ensure that the work area is safe for your workers and the traveling public. <br />Additional requirements include re-vegetation of disturbed areas at the completion of the work as <br />well as any necessary temporary erosion control measures and(or temporary sediment control <br />devices required by the Department. <br />We understand that this work may be sporadic and could continue until Fali 2007. It is understood <br />that material stockpiles and/or equipment parking shall not be within 30 feet of the paved surface of <br />SH 135 in order to maintain a safe roadside area for the traveling public. <br />Please contact my office if you have any questions.
