The material in Stockpile D is overburden material. The average ratio of what is required to reclaim the area this material was removed from to what is required to be placed back and reclaimed is 3:1. So, we have 3 times more material in Stockpile D than what is necessary to reclaim the area the material was removed from in Section 27. Thus, approximately 1/3 of the 900,000 tons or 300,000 tons will be moved back to Section 27 and the rest will be contoured in place. 2. The final graded slopes will not be greater than a 2:1 slope. 3. The area where Stockpile D is was disturbed prior to Pete Lien & Sons taking over the operation of the mine in the 1970's. That area is estimated to have been disturbed prior to 1970 by other operators. The exact location of the topsoil that was removed is unknown. Stockpile D will have an average of 4" of topsoil placed on it. This results in an approximate total volume of 5,000 CY of topsoil. The material was obtained from an old topsoil stockpile that was located on the east side of the road near Stockpile D. It is possible that some of this stockpile material was placed there during the initial disturbance of this area, but the exact source of this topsoil material is unknown as it was place there prior to 1970. 4. The area will be seeded with a mixture of Indian ricegrass, wheat grass, mountain mahogany and rabbit brush, to be hand broadcast at 18 ]bs per acre as outlined in our existing mine and reclamation plan.
