Later this week 2 [ankerd
trucks will apply a chemical dust suppressant to the roads.
4.05 }iydrologic Balance
Coal fines were observed in the Coal Creek stream channel. This
is resultant from the overtopping of material in the dip section
of the bridge by the Cameo refuse pile. The ditch from the bridge
is blocked which prevents runoff from going into the pond.
The operator is installing a culvert below the road which may
eliminate the problem of ponding on the bridge. If this culvert
is unsuccessful in preventing the ponding on the bridge and the
ditch is not maintained a second culvert must be installed from the
bridge to the ditch. The material on the bridge must be cleaned away
immediately. The coal fines must be removed from Coal Creek, and
the ditch from the bridge to the sediment must be cleaned. The inlet
to the culvert east of the Cameo office is blocked and must be cleaned.
None of the problems relating to hydrologic balance in the previous
inspection report had been resolved.
The diversion ditch around the Cameo refuse pile was clear.
4.10 Coal Processing 4laste
and
4.11 Progress continues on the Cameo refuse pile. The operator is reminded
of the quarterly inspections required by a qualified registered engineer
in Rule 1!.10.7. Inspection reports are to be maintained at the
mine site.
