EXHI8IT D -Mining Plan (6,4.41
(a) It is proposed that the method of mining will remain consistent throughout
Phases A, B,C, and D. This entails the removal of topsoil (where it exists)
and overburden, utilizing bulldozer and scrapers. Mining operations will
involve surtace extraction with front-end loaders and/or excavators.
(Note: The mining method within the existing 110 permit boundary will not
change from that approved in [M-92-054-AM-1, Exhibit C].)
(b) Topsoil (where it exists) and overburden will be sequentially removed from
each phase with scrapers, dozer and and/or motor-grader. Such material
will be placed in perimeter and staging berms as shown on Exhibit C.
(c) No water diversions are antidpated in the mining operation. Impoundment
and detention of stormwater are shown on Exhibit C.
(d) Each phase as shown on Exhibit C varies in acreage. It is the intent of the
operator to mine an area within each phase not to exceed twenty acres at
any given time.
(e) It is antidpated that this pit will be mined on a seasonal, as-necessary
basis. The operator/ landowner intends to mine in ten to twenty acre
increments. Dependent upon market demand and production rates, it is
expected that each ten to twenty acre area will be worked for a period of
12 to 36 months, including off-season shut downs.
(f) The information in this section is CONFIDENTIAL.
(i) Phases A,B,C and D consist of terrace deposits with varying depths of
topsoil and overburden. The average depth to gravel is assumed to be 4
feet (i.e. 0 - .5' topsoil, 3 - 6' overburden). The average depth of gravel is
predicted to be 10'.
(g) Primary commodities to be produced include road base materials,
crushed stone and engineered fill materials. Uses for these materials
include roadway, gas well and general construction. Secondary products
include sand, pea gravel and uncrushed stone of various sizes. These
materials will be marketed for use in landscape and erosion control
appliptions.
(h) The only incidental product expected to be encountered in the mining
operation is crusher fines. Such material may be used in the production of
asphalt materials should that become feasible in the future. Other uses
include general construd9on and as a day soil amendment.
2
