On August 27, 2002, DMG determined that the amendment application (AM-01) for the Hay
Camp Pit satisfied the minimum requirements of the Act and Rules. Therefore, on August 27,
2002, DMG approved AM-01 .
DMG has estimated the current cost of reclamation at $168,615. Please find enclosed, copy of
DMG's reclamation cost estimation dated August 26, 2002, consisting of twelve pages of
summary, work sheets and data sheets. Pursuant to Rule 4.2.1(4), the enclosed reclamation cost
estimation addresses reclamation for existing affected lands for permit areas M-1990-025
(Gardner Pit No. 2A) and M-1985-172 (Gardner Pit), as well as new lands proposed to be affected
during the year after the issuance of AM-01 .
Please note that although the amendment application has been approved, DMG will not issue the
permit until we receive and approve the Performance and Financial Warranties, as required by Rule
4.1 (2). Please ensure that mining activities do not commence in areas beyond the previously
approved boundaries for permit areas M-1990-025 and M-1985-172, until DMG receives and
approves financial warranty for AM-01 in an amount not less than 5168,615.
